My drawings are guided and inspired by the connection we have with the companions in our lives who have touched our souls as no one else has.
No matter the physical shape - dog, cat, horse, or other vessel, there is a bond to be honored and acknowledged. With each stroke of colored pencil I hope to bring to life their personality on paper. The finished piece is meant to unveil emotions and evoke memories of seasons of life: memories such as the first meeting or the last goodbye. Through eyes on the paper, a journey of memories awaits and unfolds for the beholder. |
BioBorn in Louisiana into a family of strong women who are talented, artistic, and resourceful, I began drawing and sewing at the age of 5, learning from my mother. Beauty was all around her. As a child, creating and designing filled my time. I grew up with small dogs in my life and we rehabbed wild animals.
After college, my dogs and I moved to Dallas, and later to New Orleans, where I found my soul in the delta hometown of many other artists. Marrying, and choosing to own and raise Irish Wolfhounds were the next steps which led us to Milwaukee, WI. In Milwaukee I became an NBA photographer and journalist for a Croatian basketball magazine, utilizing my love of languages and travel. All along though, I have created art through photography, sculpting, fiber arts, painting, graphic design, and drawing. Each day I still seek to create something. Every day is another opportunity to be grateful for a beautiful life with my husband, family, friends, and 4 Irish Wolfhounds. My work is in private collections world wide. |
